Mill Creek campground is located at Bucks Lake in the northern Sierra Mountains on the Plumas National Forest. The Bucks Lake area offers year-round recreation activities including fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, skiing,snowshoeing and horseback riding.
There are 11 total campsites suitable for RV and tent camping, standard non-electric sites Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. There are vault toilets and drinking water is available.
This site will be operated by Pacific Gas and Electric Company in 2024. While the administrative changes are being completed, no reservations can be made at this site at this time. Visitors should check back on Recreation.gov in mid-June for updates. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Generally, campsites will accommodate 2 vehicles. The first vehicle is included in the site fee, the second vehicle fee will be collected onsite at the daily rate posted on the fee sign.
Caution! Bears frequent the area; food must be kept in appropriate containers.
Do not Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
Firewood bundles may be purchased from a Campground Host.
A per Day, per Vehicle fee will be collected onsite for extra vehicles.
America the Beautiful, Senior Passes, and Access Passes are accepted for single campsites only. They are not accepted for double or group campsites.

There is moderate burn damage at this location.
Mill Creek is set in fir and pine trees offering shade during the warm summer months. Situated at 5,500 feet in elevation, the campground is settled along Bucks Lake.
Bucks Lake provides fishing, boating, and canoeing. There are walking trails to the lake. A hiking trail runs from the campground and provides access to Buck Wilderness and the Pacific Crest Trail which runs adjacent to the campground.
